Week 5: Volcanoes

  Week 5: Volcanoes

Australia is quite unique when it comes to volcanoes.  Australia counts 150 volcanoes mostly none of them have erupted in 4,000 to 5,000 years. Australia's inactive volcanoes are due to the island's location concerning a tectonic plate. One of the largest volcanoes found in Australia is located in Heard

There are only two active volcanoes in Australia. These volcanoes are located 4,000 kilometers southwest of Perth in the Australian Antarctic. Geoscience in Australia uses expertise to help those who are affected by volcanic eruptions. They start monitoring the volcano and eruption forecast. The objective is to make sure they analyze the impact of a hazardous volcano.
